THE DANGER OF DRINKING COLD WATER

Are you guilty of drinking cold water in order to get relief from the scorching heat, or to give you a satisfaction as you use it to stepdown your meal?
The issue of drinking cold water especially while eating has been a topic for debate for a while now. The cool sensation provided by cold water can not be denied, the soothing relief we get after being devoured by the heat of the day is mind relaxing but drinking cold water at any time for any reason may come with serious health consequences because of its downside.
Cold water makes blood viscosity high by clogging the arteries, causes blood vessels in the stomach to shrink thereby slowing absorption, solidify fats from the foods we eat making it hard for the body to digest and disperse unwanted fats from the body, weakens immune system and may also impair organs in the body such as the kidneys and the lungs.
Lving healthy is the key to good health, if drinking water at room tempratue, hot or warm water helps live healthy and open door for blood and nutrients to circulate in the body why do otherwise?
when cold water hits the stomach, the body is forced to use energy in other to warm up the liquid inside the body to match that of the body's natural temprature, these denies the body of the energy needed to properly process what has been ingested thereby slowing down body metabolism and putting the body at risk.

The evil of cold water
  1. Cold water make room for extra fat
  2. It makes you gain weight
  3. It causes constipation
  4. It saps energy
  5. It upsets digestion
  6. It hinders hydration
  7. It irritates and cause sore throat
  8. It causes headaches
  9. It slows heart rate
  10. It causes stomach cramps
Lets imagine two plates of oil is on your table, now, pour cold water into the first plate of oil and warm water into the other plate of oil, a clear difference is the result, the cold water plus oil will congeal into a solid mass while the hot water and oil melts easily, imagine what the digestive system looks like when we ingest cold water on oily food, don't you think there are possibilities that the congeal substance can cling on the wall of our digestive system to cause harm to the body?
Also imagine your kitchen sink where you wash your oily plates daily, sometimes when water fails to run through the sink properly  we pour in hot water to make room for free passage. Same goes with the body system.

Getting use to the habits of drinking hot, warm or water at room temperature will improve your digestion and your body will feel good and energized.
So the next time you are seated to eat a plate of food demand for a bottle of water at room temperature or warm water and not cold water.

Cold water is also bad for the vocal cord and this is the reason why singers drink warm or room temperature water, it can also make the body go into distress because of distortion of homeostasis balance of the body, you might feel sick most times this happens but dismiss the signs and warnings or at best use a pain killer.

Benefits of drinking room temperature/hot/warm water
  1. This leads to faster and increased hydration
  2. Food breaks down more easily
  3. Natural digestive enzymes are stimulated
  4. Purifies your blood and increases your body's natural detoxification process
  5. Helps oxyginate the blood
  6. Drinking warm water has a positive impact on overall health

  1. A good insight... Am a lover of cold water, with this i may have to watch it.

But does this mean not to drink cold water forever. Or a conscious balance will still be fine.

  2. A conscious balance is good but not good enough, it is better to train your body to get use to room temperature water now and not to be forced to when the body is sick.
